Febuxostat is the medication used in a treatment of gout. It is used whenever the gout attacks comes. Febuxostat is the xanthinesoxidase inhibitors calls of medicine. HOW TO USE FEBUXOSTAT: Remember that the Febuxostat is not a pain reliever. So dont stop taking Febuxostat if pain did not relive. Take Febuxostat 80mg tablet as per your doctor prescribed to you. Take Febuxostat orally with water or milk daily one time.Take medicine at a same time for the better effect. 

HOW FEBUXOSTAT WORKS: Febuxostat achieves its therapeutic effect by decreasing serum uric acid. Remember Febuxostat is only use to prevent gout attacks but not to treat them.

CONTRAINDICATIONS OF FEBUXOSTAT: Do not take the medicines if you are already use azathioprine or mercaptopurine. Before using the medication tell your doctor if you are allergic to it. If you have problem related to heart, kidney, liver kindly tell your doctor for advice. Only use these medicines in pregnancy when it required otherwise avoid taking the medication. 

PHARMACOKINETICS OF FEBUXOSTAT: Febuxostat is taken orally and quickly absorbed in body. Febuxostat only take 1-1.5hrs to reach its maximum plasma concentration. Febuxostat is absorbed 85% in body. The half-life of Febuxostat is 5-8 hrs. The Febuxostat is normally excreted by urination and some residues are excreted by skin. 

SIDE EFFECTS OF FEBUXOSTAT: The normal side effect of Febuxostat is nausea and vomiting but if it gets worst contact your doctor. The other side effects like yellowing of eye/skin,dark urine, stomach pain, rash etc. Immediately contact your doctor if you see some effect like bloody urine, painful urination, kidney liver damage, trouble in breathing, dizziness etc. Febuxostat also cause effects like swelling or paining of tongue/fingers/throat.
